Winding through our city of Eugene is a beautiful river called the Willamette (a name the native  Kalyapua  Indians gave to the river). I painted this last summer while I was standing in the shade on the east side of the river. It was a hot day and the light was bright and I was happy to be in the shade with the peace and quiet of the surrounding forest. It was a lovely day. I look forward to painting on different parts of the river this summer. Stay tuned for the results. Have a wonderful day!!!

Using the same process as my Track and Field photography I have created this triptych of Robin resting on a berry laden bush. Combining my camera and photoshop together allows me the freedom to see and feel nature in a way that a passing glance cannot. Of course the eye has too see the glimmer of light, feel the quickening of the heart to want to capture the initial image. It is after the fact that a deeper interaction can take place while musing with your new creation. Lots of fun and meditative in its own right......Thanks for looking and reading. Have a wonderful day!!

I would like to take a step back from posting my oil paintings and take a look at some of the results of my Track and Field photography/assemblage which put a smile on my face....As a reminder, I am an avid fan of the sport and I enjoy going to meets and photographing  athletes in their full stride. In the photoshop creation above I have extrapolated hurdlers from their races and recreated a humorous setting which, as I stated, makes me smile and I hope you also. I suppose this scene could actually, physically happen, but I doubt that I could convince the hurdlers to entertain my theatrical disposition......The process is time consuming: going to the meet, getting the right shot, processing the image and then finally coming up with a final scene. It tickles the brain to do this particular art and it won't stop any time soon as the new track season is upon us. Stay tuned for more!!!! Enjoy your day and don't forget to breath.....
