Every person on the planet will, at some point in their lives, have negative experience's with excessive heat, drought and on the flip side flooding and tremendous storms. As an artist I feel a moral responsibility to bring to the table my emotions  which may also be a reflection of yours, of our collective social and environmental dilemmas through imagery. I embrace the soft, loving and inspiring aspects of our world, but just now our collective negative environmental actions cries out for exposure and balance.

Heating of the Planet!

In our heated world we exist. Warmer and warmer. The emotion of heat. It can be uncomfortable. But it is real.

If only I could touch it then I could understand it better, but it is so hot!

Driving, relentless heat rising up and swirling around the world. Ancient cultures worshiped the sun, but they did not worship pollution. We are all embodied in the changes.

Three friends in a field. The air is hot and the sun bewildering, but smiles all around regardless. Friendship 1, heat 0.

My shadow and me. The sun making me tall. Hot, heated, dry, intense, blinding, and increasing. Pondering the awareness.

Wrapped, enveloped, surrounded, and consumed by the heat and I did not know it. The evolution was gradual.

When the heat became a part of my conscience I then realized it was becoming a part of everything. Expanding throughout the planet. But I knew there must be an opposite, a Ying to the Yang. Fire to Water.

And then the storms arrived. Pushing aside the heat and dryness. The wind lashed and pushed, and the rain stung my skin. I was both amazed and fearful wondering what to do next.

The water flooded the streets and I found myself clinging to a box. The rain and wind took everything away.

The Hurricane left. The Heat returned. I felt like a wrung out wet rag.

I was now stuck in a world where it was hot, too hot, and cold, very cold. Each element, fire and water, took its turn combating the planet. The other two elements, air and earth will soon show their hand.

The soil tries to grow life, but sometimes it is difficult. The rains are slow to come or give beyond the needs for food and canopy. An earthly struggle ensues and balance is needed.

The air was compromised by centuries of pollution. It became part of our DNA. Yet we still tolerate old polluting technology. Bring in the new!

Summation for the elements Earth and Air is "Difficulty to grow food and sustain forests. Difficulty to breathe  the air and stay healthy". The four  Elements push and pull against each other creating combinations of disaster and despair. There is still hope!

Summation for the elements Fire and Water is "Singed fields, burnt forests and a heated Earth. Massive floods, Tremendous storms and Hurricanes". The four  Elements push and pull against each other creating combinations of disaster and despair. There is still hope!

Energy passes from the ground up through our bodies and from the atmosphere down through our bodies. We are the in the middle of the whole. We would do well to remember we are all connected.
