Benjamin Franklin in 1784 wrote a letter to his daughter Arguing  that  the  national  bird  of  America   should be the Domestic Turkey as it is natural to nature and rejected the Bald Eagle as the symbol of America…In American slang language today if you called someone a Turkey you are calling them a fool.
